As a Mission Partner of the India Evangelical Lutheran Church, we members of Divine Redeemer have sent mentoring teams in 2004 and 2005 as short-term missionaries in two "Catch the Vision of His Mission" conferences directed by Dr. Waldo Werning. The India Lutheran Church requested that this year’s “Mission Vision” conference be delayed until January 2007.
Do you realize how much the India Lutheran congregations with their pastors and members have been renewed through our partnership with them? Many new Bible classes have been started as they study the Spiritual Travel Guide, which helps them review their Christian faith and sends them off into their communities witnessing to the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ. As Ephesians 4:12 tells that God’s people are to be prepared for their ministry and service to Christ, India Lutheran lay people have enlarged their ministry in their churches and to their communities, together with greater evangelism outreach. Women’s ministries have been especially strengthened with more women prepared for leadership and others for service.
The main goal for pastors is to disciple members to be effective church builders by reproducing and multiplying believers and churches. They desire healthy leaders for healthy churches with healthy members.
Our India Lutheran partners want these "Catch the Vision of His Mission" conferences to change their churches from “maintenance” to “mission,” training and releasing their members to use their spiritual gifts in effective ministries, and to put them on a life-long journey of lively discipleship.
The path to missionary partnership in India is open to every member of Divine Redeemer as you get one of the India Mission envelopes at the entrance of the worship services for your generous gift and also remember to put your coins into the mission jars. Because of the delay to January 2007, we have taken short vacation in providing information. Now is the time to go full speed ahead with our offerings and prayers.
