Heidi Graf was born in Waukesha, Wisconsin, but was raised throughout the Midwest as her father is a pastor. She graduated from Luther Prep School in Watertown, Wisconsin and studied education and music at Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minnesota. Upon graduating in 1989, she continued her studies in music at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and graduated in 1990 with a Master’s degree in Music.
Heidi began her career at St. Lucas Lutheran Church and School in Bayview on the south side of Milwaukee. There she was the director of music, taught sixth grade and general music, conducted choirs and played organ.
In 1993, Heidi began teaching music full time in the West Allis School District. Her duties included conducting 7th and 8th grade choirs, and teaching general music and singing to grades K-8. During this time Heidi also was music director at various churches in the Milwaukee area including Abiding Savior Lutheran Church in Brown Deer.
In 2007, Heidi answered the call to return to full time music ministry by accepting the position as Minister of Music at Dr. Martin Luther Church in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. After serving there for 6 years she has accepted the offer to be Director of Music and Worship at Divine Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hartland.
Heidi resides in Ixonia with her two children, Nathaniel and Amelia, ages ten and nine. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, cooking, cycling and working out at the YMCA.
