It is with great delight and thanksgiving to our God, that I am pleased to announce that Seminarian Adam Wolfe has received the Divine Call to serve us as our new Pastor of Outreach and Mission. The Seminary's Assignment of Calls occurred in a special worship service held "virtually" at Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri, last night, April 28th. Pastor Wolfe and his wife, Morgan, are both Wisconsin natives. He is from Germantown, and his wife is from Sheboygan Falls. They are expecting their first child on August 21st. Lots of excitement in their lives! Their moving date, ordination and installation dates, and other matters have not yet been decided by the Wolfe family. Morgan will continue teaching until June 5th. They may do some house hunting on June 12th, and will let us know in the days to come. I am confident his ministry among us will be blessed and that Jesus will do great things through him in Mission and Outreach.
I am also very pleased and thankful to our gracious God that you, the wonderful people of DR, have, in spite of Covid-19, continued to worship together as God's people "virtually," as well as the overwhelming number of you who participated in our drive through Communion this past Monday. The line of cars waiting to receive the Lord's Supper was humbling. Your prayers and encouragement for everyone in our church and school are very much appreciated and heartwarming. I hope to see many of you in our "Shout It From The Rooftop" event this Saturday, May 2nd at 5:00pm in our school's parking lot. Pastor Seth and I will, literally, be on the roof! Come join us for a time of thanksgiving and praise.
Finally, and very importantly, your church and school staff thank you for your continued generosity in giving whether through online (PushPay) or by your conventional offerings through the mail. Every gift, no matter how big or small is important for sustaining our mission and ministry, especially when we cannot meet on Sundays. Thank you for your continued and sustained financial and prayer support! We can get through this together!
Please keep Pastor Adam and Morgan in your prayers as they navigate this season of life by faith.
Pastor Jeff
